How do I get seen?

Please fill out the consult form or call (919) 828 - 9689 to make an appointment for a consultation. Consultations are free, however if you decide that you cannot make your appointment please call to cancel. The consultation form must be filled out prior to coming in for an appointment. No client will be seen without a consultation form being completed.

What does a consult consist of?

Consultations are offered for all of my services. You will be given the price of your service at that time. During your consultation, we can decide on the style of your preference. Please allow me to see how in the natural state. No braids or hair in the blow-dried hair .I will make suggestions during the consult, but the ultimate decision for your final style is yours. I want you to be satisfied and making you happy makes me happy.  Please have an idea of what styles you may like during this time. This helps me as far as determining what your appointment will consist of .A deposit may be required for styles requiring more than 3 to 4 hours.

When should I arrive for my consult /appointment?
Please check in 10-15 minutes prior to the start of your appointment. 

What if I need to cancel my consult /appointment?
If you find yourself unable to keep an appointment, we request a 24 hour notice. Guests who do not honor their appointments or cancel in less than 24 hours may be charged a cancellation fee. 

What if I'm late for my appointment?
It is understandable things come up, traffic may be heavy, or you may be lost... riding in a circle trying to locate the salon.It is possible we may have to shorten or re-schedule your appointment. If your treatment is shortened, it will end on time so that the next guest will not be delayed. We hope you understand.

How far in advance do I need to schedule?
To ensure your accommodation please book 2 to 4 weeks in advance. Clients are welcome to book ahead for their next appointment when checking out .Consults is required for all new clients.

Your Appointment day
Sophia Sunflower Salon offers a complimentary shampoo and condition for your initial style. If you require your twist or artificial hair to be removed please let me know when making your appointment. This service requires more time for your appointment and therefore additional cost. Detangling hair properly is a time consuming process that adds to your appointment time. If you decide that you would like for me to detangle hair please make me aware prior to the appointment. If not properly detangled or combed through an additional charge may be assessed. Please let me know before you arrive if you plan or will not have the time to detangle your hair. 

Your Service has been completed
At your consultation we have established what style you have desired.  Please be certain about your choices because I will not give any refunds. You are allowed to look at your style during the progression of completing your hair. After your hair style is complete and you have left the premises, you are agreeing that you are pleased with your service. Please feel free to look at your hair, in my presence so that I can correct the issue, before getting under the dryer preferably. If you don't tell me then I will not know what needs to be corrected to your satisfaction. If you are unsatisfied or feel there is something wrong with your service after you leave the salon, you will be asked to leave your hair exactly the way it is and return to the salon so that I may assess what can be done to your hair for your satisfaction. Keep in mind I cannot determine how long a style will last you. I can only generalize .If you decide to remove or change your hair for any reason before allowing me to see your hair; a new appointment with new fees will be administered. No exceptions. 

What if I have special health considerations?
Please notify me prior to appointment. I will try to accommodate you.

Where do I park?
A complimentary parking lot is located at the salon for your convenience. If you are getting serviced after 5pm, please park on the street to avoid being towed.

Do you allow cell phones/ laptops ?
Surely ,clients are welcome to bring their cell phones with them to their appointment; we also have WIFI service, if you need to bring your laptop.

What methods of payment do you accept?
Payment is made at the end of your visit. We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Debit Cards. 

What color system do you use ?

The Color Systems I use are ECOColors and Organic Systems: Keep in mind these are natural and organic color lines.  However a patch test is advised, just because a product is natural or organic does not mean you will not develop a sensitivity. Sophia Sunflower Salon, INC assumes no responsibility or liability of an allergic reaction to a product or patch test. These color lines have been used in my salon for several years and the results are great, however they are costly.

ECO Colors 
The consult form must be submitted prior to a color application.  ECO Colors is a non-toxic safer product that avoids the side-effects of chemical based color. PPD is the chemical found in most hair colors, but not this line .EcoColors Hair color was formulated with non toxic in mind. With the addition of the highest quality ingredients such as lecithin, vitamin E, Vitamin C, nettles, rosemary, flower essence and grapefruit seed extract, EcoColors surpasses its competitors in performance with super conditioning coverage that is natural looking and shiny. However, ECO products typically do not last as long as chemical based dyes.
